The Yardogs are a rockin five-piece Kansas City band performing a mix of their own original music and tunes from some of their favorite bands and artists. The live experience of the bands' performances has pleased old and new fans alike as the groups' popularity has grown. Formed to be a "fun band" not a working band, it is soon obvious to listeners that each member is part of this musical experience for the pure joy of making music.
Long time partners, lead vocalists Roger and Saundra Brough, have performed together in various groups along with drummer, Randy Burton, for over twenty five years in the Kansas City area. They are joined by son, Christopher, whose searing lead guitar work permeates every chord of each performance, along with bassist, Joe Biesterfeld, who adds fun, more great tunes, and rockin bass & vocals.
For the band, maturing as both musicians and songwriters as a group, has been a most rewarding process. This is not your typical "juke box" band, but one that chooses to simply play songs they really like. This results in sets that reward the audience as the band jams through a combination of tunes-rock, swing, & ballads, some old and some new.
The catalyst for this group has been to use the music to gather friends, family, and other musicians to a "Yardog's Party" with each live performance. This has produced a growing community of Yardog fanatics (actually just our pals!). Their first CD, Breakin' The Chain, was released in 2003 and the Dogs are always excited about sharing some of the tunes created from years of performance experience!
